Nikolay Bortnik also known Max Barskih is a Ukrainian singer-songwriter that was born on March 8, 1990 on Kherson, Ukraine. When he was young he started writing a song which he inspired with many things, although he wants to be an astronauts he chooses to pursue his desire in music.
In the year 2008, he was a finalist in the “Ukrainian Star Academy TV Show Star factory 2 nd Season” and he became a part of the TV show “Factory star 2” and in “Factory Super Final. Where” in which he introduced the song “Student”. On the other hand, he was awarded as Best Ukrainian Artist by MTV Europe Music Awards which became his stepping stone in stardom.
He released his debut album called “1 MAX BARSKIH” on December 20, 2009 by Astra Records. In 2011, he introduced the first ever CIS short video for “Lost in Love, I lose you” directed by Alan Badoev (Director/producer). This clip received “Eurohim Top 40” in Russia and he got the chance to perform as an opener in “Europa Plus Live”. Through his hard work he was acknowledged as “Singer of the Year” as well as “Best Performance of the year”.
Max revealed 2 nd album called “Z.Dance” on May 3, 2012 which almost of his tracks is in English language. He collaborated with Andrew Tomishin, DJ Lutique and his producer/director Alan Bodoev in making this album. He also received the “Best Song of the Year” together with “Video of the Year” in OE Video Music Awards and had been given the prestigious “Breakthrough of the Year” by Muz-TV and got nominated in “Creative of the Year”.
He introduced the track “Do not believe me” featuring Misha Romanov that ranked 154 in Tophit General top 100 (Russia), number 24 in Ukraine and number 88 in Audience Choice top Hit 100, while his single “Im Sick in you/I wanna run” was featured as soundrakc in the Pepsi Commercial in the year 2013.
His 3 rd album “According to Freud” was inspired by his past experiences and history of his life together with a video clip of his biography as a singer. It was also charted Russian and Ukraine which sold many copies and received a positive feedback from critics. He held a concert on May 9, 2014 called “Victory. One for All” which he shows his song “Letter to his Father” in which the song contains emotional attachment to Fathers.
