About Любэ

Lyube is a Russian band formed on 1989 in Luberty, Russia. The present members are Nikolay Rastorguyev (vocalist, acoustic & electric guitarist), Aleksey Tarasov (backing vocalist), Sergei Pereguda (guitarist), Pavel Usanov (bassist), Vitaliy Loktev (keyboardist), Aleksandr Erokhin (drummer). They incorporated Russian folk music, Russian Chanson along with Soviet Military songs and it was Igor Matvienko who is the founder of the band in 1988. Their name was from the nickname of Moscow community in Lyubersty and a colloquial word “Any”.

The band started in a concert in Russian cities in Pyagtigorsk along with Zheleznovodsk in which it not quite successful, until Alla Pugacheva’s sponsored concert came in and asked them to join which Rastorguyev wear a military uniform while performing and it take part of the bands image until now. In 1989, they released their debut album called “Atas” through Igor Matvienko Production Centre that comprises of 14 tracks including “Lubertsy”, “Uncle Bob” and “Aunt- Doctor” which they collaborated with Anatoly Kuleshov, Alexey Tarasov, V. Jam and A. Gorbashov as musicians and backing vocals.

As they continue, they released more albums such as “Who said that bad life..?” in 1992, followed by “Zone Lube” (1994) along with “Kombat” (1996) and many more until 2009 they came up with their 20th anniversary album called “Their” as the bands 9th album in which they launched on 22nd and 23rd of February at the State Kremlin Palace accompanied by their concert “It’s 20 years Old”.

Along with the released of studio albums, they also launched live albums such as Concert program “Song of the people” (1988), next was “Anniversary Best Songs” (2002) and “In Russia” in 2007. Aside from that they bring out the following compilation albums “Collected Works”, the “Works Volume 2” as well as their 15th Anniversary album “The boys of our regiment” and all in all they released 9 studio albums, 3 Live Albums, 5 compilations albums and 18 videos. Aside from that, they performed in many places including Russian Federation, Ukraine, Bulgaria as well as in Poland.

One of the awards that they received was Best Album in 1996 for “Kombat” album and in 1997, Rastorguyev was awarded as “Recognized Artist of the Russian Federations” (highest honor that was given for the singer in Russia) by the Russian President Vladimir Putin in which according to the President, he was one of the fan of the band.
