Is a singer from Russia with Georgian descent, “Valery Meladze” in real life is “Valerian Shotayevich Meladze”. He was born on June 23, 1965 in the former Union Soviet Socialist Republic. He is a singer, songwriter, actor and music producer. He is known for a variety of music style ranging from pop, art rock, eurodance, Europop, and pop rock. He studied piano in school in his early years and end up taking mechanincal engineering degree at “Nikolayev Shipbuilding Institute” in “Ukraine”. Valery’s first musical influence is his brother. He started to sing as a back up vocalist under his brother’s band called ‘April”, but eventually the group was disbanded.
In 1989 Valery met the producer of the booming “Soviet Union” group “Dialog”, after two years the album “Middle of the Wood” was released.
1993 seemed to be a challenging year for Valery and his group when the producer of his first album died. The group went thru financial difficulties and in the later part of 1993 Valery exited the group. Valery met “Evgenly Friendland” and helped him record his solo debut song “Don’t Disturb my Soul”.
Valery’s image was tainted because his song project loneliness and rudeness. Many labels and producers turned down Valery because of image issues.
In 1995, Valery met his redeemer “Alla Pugacheva” that led to his performance for the song “The Christmas Meeting” in the Russian capital city. After meeting his saviour, “Valery” released his first solo album for music label “Souz”. The album contains the hit songs “Sera”, “The Middle of Summer” and “Christmas Eve”. The album produced success and popularity for Valery’s career. This same year proved to be more successful for Valery when he gathered two awards for “Debut of the Year” and “The Best Singer of the Year” from “Ovatsil” and “Zvezdy”
During the later part of 1996 Valery released “The Last Romanticist” and after a year, he embarked on concerts in major cities of Russia and made a performance in “Olimpiksiy” in “Moscow”. The corncerts and performaces resulted to cocert cum video cum album called “Live Olympik Moscow”.
1999 witnessed the released of “The Best”. It is a compilation of best hits from Valery Meladze. And the following year (2000), Valery made a partnership with “Via Gra” and in 2002, Valery introduced the songs in duet with “Via Gra”. On the early part of 2002 Valery performed 11 concert tours in the USA. 2003 saw the released of Valery’s fifth album and received many awards and regarded as one the most merited singers in Russia.
