About Ассаи

On October 21, 1983, Alexie Kosov was born in Leningrad, RSFSR. He is now known for his stage name Assai. He focused on producing Abstrct Rap, Jazz, Alternative Hip Hop and Down Tempo Music. Assai started as a member of the group “Awkward Age”. By then, he used the stage name Dirty. Then, the group grew by having Alf, now known as Masta Bass, who originated in his group “Fuctory”. Assai’s group changed named to “Umbriaco”.

Assai formed a group named “Krec”. Assai wrote songs and was involved in their debut album recording to their second album. The debut album was entitled “Smokey Mo Kara-Te”, then the second album was “No Magic”. He worked with Fyuzom and Marat. After the release of his albums, his style and approached in music became noticeable by the listeners. His songs became popular, together with the genre he is introducing. In 2005, Assai also have time to work on his debut album “Other Shores”. The album was released one year after their group “Krec” had released their album. In 2006, “By the River” album was released by “Krec”. Assai personally wrote more than half of the album. One of the singles in the album was chosen to be a soundtrack for the film “Peter FM”. The song was “Tenderness”.

In 2008, his hard work gave him progressive success, for his solo career and his group’s career. They even scheduled several live band performances for the promotion of their albums. This year, Assai also released his album “Fatalist”. In 2009, the disbanding of the group “Krec” was announced by Assai.

In 2010, Assai continue to pursue his music career by being a solo artist and formed another group named “Assai Music Band”. He released his first Extended Play “Elevator”. They were able to perform in fifty concerts in different venues within one hundred days. And for the whole year Assai’s group was able to have seventy five concerts. The crowd grew as they become more and more popular. They started off with only twenty five people, up to one thousand five hundred people. Assai considered performing live as the real life. As he and his staff end the year, they decided not to stretch their limits too far and to have a break due to exhaustion for their previous tour. In 2011, Assai discovered Alexander Makhnev, a passionate young pianist. Assai recruited Makhnev to join their group. The group was able to have two concerts, in Moscow and in St. Petersburg.
